NEEDS AN ADULT HOME WITH NO KIDS, CATS OR BIG DOGS (small dogs ok)

IZZIE came to us with her sister PATTI all the way from Florida. Their owner has terminal cancer and asked our foster to help place them in a forever home, so that she will know they will be well taken care of. It would be a dream if they could be adopted together, but it's not necessary. They are both very independent and don't seem to mind being away from each other at all. Izzie is 9lbs and working on losing some weight. She gets along with other small dogs, as long as they respect her space and stay away while she is eating dinner.  She winces if you try to pet her on top of her head or get in her face, but LOVES to be pet under her chin, her chest and anywhere else. She will tap you to ask for more love, if you stop petting her.  <3 She likes to sleep in the bed and cuddle next to you on the couch, but can be a bit grumpy if you disturb her rest. Only a growl and a pretend nip (no teeth and no bites) For these reasons, we recommend an adult home with no children or cats. She's not fond of big dogs, but blends well with her four, small step-foster sisters. She isn't extremely active. She is not a fan of her collar/leash, but we are working on that. She is a primadonna who prefers to be carried outside to potty, sniff around a bit and come right back in.  She does like to sit out on the screened porch in the sun, where she feels protected and safe.

She had to have hernia surgery last week and has had a dental, where she had four teeth removed. She's recovering like a champ and seems to have a bit of pep in her step now that she's feeling better.
