This little tid bit of sweet love is Ms. Picky Pixie and she has been with PLP since March 2019. We know nothing of her life before she was found abandoned and tied to a tree in a dog park in NC. She was scared, confused, and unfortunately Heartworm positive. She showed obvious signs of abuse and neglect and ran from any form of physical contact. In the past several months Picky has slowly but surely started coming out of her shell. She gets along great with the other animals in her foster home which includes 2 dogs, a cat, and a bunny. Pixie likes the two children in the home who are 6 and 9 as long as they are calm and don't make quick sudden moves close to her. She loves any and all squeaky stuffies and will explode them in no time, and loves to play 1/2 fetch ( will run get the toy but wont bring it back we are working on that part) She still has stranger danger and will shy away and bark at those who she doesnt know since she still worries about her past repeating itself. Sweet Picky Pix needs a calm, loving family who will give her ample time to settle and will take their time showing her that she can trust them. Once she develops that trust and bond and knows for sure you are there to love her then she is a giant ball of wiggly, needy, love and wants all of your attention. Pix is house trained (with the exception of shy bladder which she dribbles when very scared) crate trained, and also walks well in a leash. She would prefer a home with another furry friend or two or a person who stays home so she wont be lonely during the day, with no children or older children who can be slow and gentle around her. Pixie is eager to please and to be loved, she just really needs a family that can let her love at her own pace.
