This big hunk was dumped in a lumber yard in Columbus Co. He went to the shelter and waited..... and waited.
No one came for him and he was overlooked by other rescues again and again. His face was swollen and he had some abscesses which were treated. Sadly Ernest became very shut down and depressed at the shelter. That is when Peace, Love, and Paws found him.
Earnest was Heartworm positive and needed time to decompress and undergo treatment. He is a very sweet but timid and cautious boy. He is slowly learning to trust. He will require a home that provides him with love and patience. He is very good with the big dogs in his foster home. At this time, we feel he will require at least one other large breed dog in his forever home as he relies on his pack to learn how to live a more relaxed life.
Earnest is crate trained but has been left out when his foster is not home without problem. He would do best in a home where he spends limited time alone. He is very attached to his foster and likes to have his human with him as much as possible.
Earnest has been around small children and done well. He needs to be around people both big and small who respect his need to go slow when approaching him.
