Meet sweet Norma Jean!
She’s a beautiful, 9 year old (we think husky/shepard mix, medium sized at about 50 lbs. She gets along great with other dogs and all humans she’s met so far.
She’s so sweet and friendly. She loves trying to play with her foster brother but he won’t pay any attention to her. Typical big brother! They do take walks together every day. Norma Jean is fantastic on a leash. She knows when to slow down and speed up and has never pulled. She’s very gentle. She’s been to the beach a few times and doesn’t seem to care about the ocean but likes running around in the sand!
She  likes walking but doesn’t seem to want to spend much time in the back yard so a fenced in yard isn’t required.
Norma Jean is house trained. She had a couple accidents when she first went to her foster home. Once she settled in, it never happened again.
She is also crate trained. Her foster mom works full time and Norms goes right in willingly before she leaves for the day. She gets very excited when her mom comes home. At night, she sleeps in her bed or on the couch and does sleep straight through the night.
Norma Jean does have to be watched around food. She’s stolen multiple food items off the counter and gobbled them right up. This is possibly from being so malnourished in the past. She is able to eat in the same room as her foster brother.
Her front teeth are in bad shape but her back ones work just fine! The vet said since she’s not in pain, we’ll just leave them alone. They don’t seem to bother her at all.
She’s very good at sharing. She is not afraid of  thunder storms or but if you are cheering for your favorite sports team and get too loud, she will cower. Or if you drop something, she will get scared and slink away. It about breaks her foster mom’s heart.  But we think if we keep working on it, she’ll learn that no one is going to hurt her.
Norma likes riding in the car and she’s very good when she visits the community. When her mom stops to talk to the neighbors, she just lays down and waits patiently.
She doesn’t need to be groomed but enjoys being brushed. She even lays down quietly to have her nails trimmed!
Norma Jean is a funny, silly, sweet girl who just wants to be loved!
