This is Bayou. 

He is neutered and up to date on his shots. Bayou came to one of our volunteers as a small puppy.  He was found in the rain in a flooding ditch covered in mud. When he was about 6 months old, she  found him a great home with a new family. After about a year, his new mom had gotten a new job where she just didn’t have the time to spend with him.   So Bayou came back to stay with his rescuer, who is now a foster for PLP. 

Bayou is a male Blue Merle German Shepherd though his markings have faded a lot as he has grown. He is between 1 to 1 1/2 years old.  

Bayou loves kids, cats and other dogs! It only took him about three minutes to get right back into the groove of things with his foster brothers. He knows his name and is pretty good about staying with you outside but he will run to investigate cats and people nearby. 

Bayou is very outgoing and he loves to play. He needs space to run so a fenced yard is recommended. He can be more timid towards men but loves women. He follows his human everywhere and loves to be close by. He loves to be on the couch or bed if you allow it!  

He loves riding in the car! He actually prefers the front seat! He loves to go for walks and runs. He is crate trained and house broken. He’s not to fond of being left home alone but does okay if he is in the crate.  He can either be crated at night or sleep in bed with you, whatever you prefer. He needs a lot of exercise or someone to play with. A fenced yard is preferred. He likes fetch and knows how to sit. He does like to see what’s on the counters though, so we suggest a gate across the kitchen door.  

Bayou is a great boy, who deserves a loving home where he can be part of someone’s family for the rest of his life.  He will be available at the end of June after he finishes his vetting. Approved application, home visit, and adoption fee of $250 required.
