Let us officially introduce Jazzy!
The humans think I might be Chihuahua mix. I am approximately three years old and weigh around 14 pounds.  Unfortunately, I don't quite fit my name yet but I will.  My fur is a little coarse, and I was missing a few patches of it when i arrived.  My fur is filling in beautifully.  I am also getting baths with a wonderful oatmeal shampoo that makes me smell soooooooo good.

I came to Peace, Love, and Paws Inc. from a rural North Carolina shelter. I am heartworm positive but have finished my month of medications. I will need a ProHeart injection in 5 months to continue my treatment but it only costs around $35.00 and doubles as a preventative! I am now spayed, vaccinated, chipped, and current on flea and tick preventative. I am feeling better every day, and can't believe I hit the jackpot when I was rescued.  I was very hesitant at first when they rescued me, and I am still a little apprehensive at times.  Sometimes things seem too good to be true - even to a dog.

I am currently living in a house with my foster mom, a few other Chihuahuas and a cat.  I tolerate the other dogs and love the cat......but honestly prefer the company of humans.  I do NOT like big dogs. I would probably do best in a home where I am the only dog.

I am a pretty quiet fur baby, and I like to lay around most of the time.  I found my favorite doggie bed I love so very much, and my foster mom has agreed to let it go with me to my forever  home.  My foster mom takes me for a walk on the leash which I don't mind at all.  I like to take frequent stops, stick my nose up and just inhale this wonderful Fall air.  For some reason the air seems so much nicer now.  You may need to give me a little tug on the leash to remind me to continue walking because I just get so mesmerized by the beauty of everything.  I still haven't gotten my bathroom habits where they need to be.  I am doing better all the time.  I go to the door and will wait a few seconds hoping someone takes me out.  It will help me if whoever adopts me takes me out throughout the day.  If that happens, I will rarely have an accident - I promise.

One thing I do not like is to go into a crate.  Maybe it was something that happened in my past, but if I know you are going to put me in my crate, you better have your running shoes on.  My foster mom chased me for ten minutes one day before she caught me. Around and around the kitchen we went! I was secretly laughing and didn't think she would catch me but she did.  It is the only time you will hear me make any noise.  Other than that, a mouse makes more noise than I do.  I don't even bark!

I don't play with toys - not even a ball.  I never had any so they don't interest me.  I watch the other Chihuahuas play with them, and that is entertaining enough for me.  I even watch the cat play with her catnip toy.  Cats amuse me.  They think they are so much smarter than us dogs.

Jazzy comes with all vet records, leash and collar. She is being fostered in Longs, SC. Her adoption donation is $250.00
Approved application, home visit, and references required.
