Pearl is a 10 lb white Chihuahua who came to Peace, Love and Paws when her owner became ill and went to a hospital. Pearl was outside with two other pups and not in good shape. It was cold and rainy and she was neglected and sad. She was very underweight when she came to us but she is filling out nicely. She is missing her front teeth but has no problem eating either soft or hard dog food. Pearl is a very quiet, docile dog who is crate trained but not fully housebroken. She was living outside before so she is still learning to be inside and learn house manners. Pearl walks good on a leash, but any type of noise scares her right now. She will need either a fenced in yard or to be kept on a leash when outside so she does not dart and run away. Pearl is good with other dogs but must be introduced slowly. She rides very well in the car, but you must keep her hooked into a seatbelt so she does not jump out if you stop and get out of the car. She has not been around children. Pearl has not wanted to play with toys and we think this is because she may not have ever had any. Pearl is up-to-date on all vaccinations and preventatives, spayed, and micro chipped. She is heartworm negative. Approved application, home visit, and adoption donation of $250 required.
