Mia is being returned to us by no fault of her own. One of her adoptive parents has become ill and cannot care for her.  Mia is a young girl with VERY high energy. She needs a home with preferably another dog and someone who can give her lots of exercise and attention.  She loves cuddling and belly rubs when not doing zoomies. She has been getting TWO- two-mile walks daily and still has energy to spare. Apartment living probably won’t do, plus she’s a barker, especially when the doorbell rings. A fenced yard and a doggy playmate her size would be ideal for her.   She also needs regular grooming but can be snippy in crates etc. at places like grooming salons, vet office, so must be aware. She is still learning leash manners.

She is crate trained, but the crate MUST BE on the floor. (Vet/groomers should be aware- if on 2nd level or higher of stacked crates/kennel)  She will bark and whine and wake up her foster parents during the night at times and will want to go outside. (her voice is not subtle) ;)

She is house trained and has completed basic training class. She may have an accident inside if she gets nervous. She will sit to put a leash on and before dinner.

Mia came to us from the county shelter. She had been turned in as a stray. She could not be adopted as she was so scared she wanted to bite everyone.  They moved her to the cat room and tried working with her but she needed a home environment as she was too scared so we stepped in to help.

We picked her up and she went to a foster home. Unfortunately, they only gave her a few hours to settle in and wanted her gone the next day. :(

She went to the next foster home and although she was a challenge at first, she really wanted nothing but love underneath her skittish demeanor. She does need to be socialized in her situations and will hide and shake at times.

Mia does get better each day but will require a patient, committed person who can give her lots of love and time to be the dog we know she can be.

She seems to have separation anxiety, probably from being a stray and not knowing what happened to her in the past. She also does have some crate reactivity at times.

We no NOT know her breed(s) but the dog scanner app shows a mix of several small breeds. A DNA test would have to be done to know for sure.

Mia is spayed, up to date on vaccines,, chipped, and heartworm negative. She is current on all preventatives and comes with leash, collar, vet records and a small bag of food.

An experienced, patient person will be required to adopt.

$200.00 adoption donation. Home visit, approved application  and references required.

No small children. Good with other dogs.

Serious inquiries only.
