Prudence was rescued from living in a backyard with not much socialization and no real shelter, in May 2022.  She currently weighs 56 pounds and is about 2 1/2 years old. She has all her vaccines, is spayed and has finished heartworm treatment. After having X-rays of her right leg it was determined that she tore her ACL as a puppy and since then has developed some arthritis in that knee. Although she initially was prescribed Gabapentin, she has been able to be maintained with supplements only. Her adopter should plan on continuing with these. Losing a little weight couldn’t hurt either! Prudence runs and plays like there's nothing wrong with her knee.  Things that Prudence loves: car rides, (she's very well behaved in the car), belly rubs, ice cream, watermelon, eggs, green beans & chasing squirrels. Stuffy squeaky toys are her favorite! At first, she did destroy the stuffies, now she has learned not to tear them up and plays very gently. Carrying the stuffies around with her is something she does all the time. Prudence loves her crate and some days she's very lazy and sleeps most of the day. Other times she loves to cuddle and give kisses or lay outside on the patio to get some sun. She sleeps quietly in her crate or wherever she wants and is house trained. Prudence is very sweet and a very easy dog. She can get a little excited when she sees other dogs-not mean, just unsure.. She can growl some when just meeting another dog, once they get to know each other she's fine and loves to play.  So slow introductions would be best.  She doesn't like getting on the sofa or the bed. That could change with time and more confidence. Thunderstorms scare her and she will hide out for a while. She knows how to sit, down, come and stay. She can be  stubborn at times and doesn't always comply. Being consistent with training and in time she will get better. Her foster parents continue to work on leash walking and she's doing better. Prudence has made great improvements since coming to foster care and  improves everyday. She's a very special girl who would do well with a family who can match her energy level and need to exercise.
