Eli 

Eli came to us after Hurricane Ian. A good Samaritan found him running around in the storm, cold, wet and covered in fleas, with an obvious eye injury. He was taken to the shelter after the storm but no one claimed him so we came to his rescue. 
He was in bad shape but we fixed him right up. What a trooper he was after having four surgeries in one day! (Neuter, dental, hernia repair and eye removal) 
Eli rides well in the car, walks great on a leash and is a sweet boy. He loves to be scratched and petted.
Eli can be a grumpy snap dragon while with his person so no small kids. (Something adopter will want to work on- maybe a trainer visit in the future) We will only adopt to someone who is willing to get a trainer if needed. Eli was adopted and returned after just a few days so we do not want this to happen again. He may need several meets also before adoption so will need a patient person but he is worth it. 
Eli is about 14 lbs., and around 3 years old. He is not a super fan of the crate but settles in after about 15 mins. He only barks when in the crate or playing. He is a toy thief. 
Eli is very PROTECTIVE of his person and does not like other people getting in the way of his cuddles. 
Eli is ok with the cat and the other dogs in his foster home, but he has little dog syndrome and tries to bow up to bigger dogs. 
Eli Will bolt out the door if given a chance so he will need a safe place and someone who will be diligent with doors etc. 
Eli is completely vetted, hw neg, chipped and current on all preventatives. 
Approved application, home visit, and Adoption donation of $200 required.
