Miss Isabel (Izzie)

Congratulations to Miss Isabel who has finally found her forever home!
Izzie came to us last October when we received a call from our local shelter about a sweet little chi who was being surrendered. She was taken to the shelter because they could not afford her care.  The shelter was over capacity; they had no room. The owners were about to take her to the county kill shelter but luckily we intervened.
It turns out this was the best thing to ever happen to  Izzie. After we took her in we soon found out Izzie had a lot of medical problems. She’s  had a tough few months to say the least!  When she went in for her spay, they discovered Pyometra (an infection in her uterus that would have killed her) and some cancer in her Mammary Glands. She had life saving surgery for BOTH and recently had another surgery for her "cherry eyes". She's gone through a lot, but is SO HAPPY and SO GRATEFUL to be alive and now her journey is complete!! Izzie is healthy and HOME!!
Congrats to our little munchkin!
Never look back little one! Thank you Susan for adopting and not shopping!
Have a wonderful life izzie!! Thank you Mary for fostering and Kimberly and Carole for transporting and helping with vet visits!  Also, thank you to all who donated to her care!!

Minx

The best day of Minx's life just happened!! Congrats to Miss Minxy for finding her forever family!!
You see Minx found herself in quite the predicament this year. Sadly her owners surrendered her to a North Carolina rural kill shelter. Of course she wasn't spayed, was heartworm positive; she is BIG and black and looks to be a bully breed. Lots of strikes. ˜ž On top of all of that she appeared to not like other dogs. Triple whammy against her. Rescues need fosters and most fosters have other dogs.
Minx was the longest resident of the shelter after coming in mid May of this year. She was still there in August; sitting in her run and her time was up. She was scheduled to be euthanized August 30. An angel appeared with a foster offer and we offered to help. Of course her foster had other dogs but it was a better situation than this sweet girl had had so far! Minx LOVES people; she loves kids; and we soon found out she wanted to PLAY with her foster siblings. (thru a test with other dogs in a crate  ) She received her heartworm treatment and her foster family fell in love with her!
When they announced they didn't want her to leave we were over the moon! Thank you, thank you Lunsford family for giving her the chance she needed to be safe and find YOU!
Have a wonderful life Minx!!! Never look back!

Thank you Caroline and Derrick for adopting and loving this sweet girl!
This is why rescue matters! It’s been a long road, blood, sweat and tears and a long recovery but what a sweet ending! Thank you to all who donated and followed Maggie !
Adopt; don’t shop!
(Is this the best family photo or what?!)

Have a wonderful life Maggie!! We love you so much!!!
