Back in March this poor little dog appeared on the county shelters webpage as "rescue only". She was a hot mess, with ringworm and skin problems along with being heartworm positive. Some shelters put dogs down because of ringworm because it takes so long to treat and is highly contagious. Her little face was so sad; we just had to find a spot for her!
She soon joined our PLP family but had to be quarantined from other animals for several weeks. When the ringworm healed she could start her heartworm treatment and then after THAT complete her vetting and spay.
We named her Millie and she slowly transformed into the beautiful girl she was meant to be. Amazing what good food and vet care can do!
Two and a half months later and today was finally Millie's day to shine!
Congrats Millie, Brittany and family! We are so happy for you! Millie now lives as an only pet in Cheraw, SC and has a state park across the street to explore.
Brittany has been searching for a new family member for a few months and Millie was just what she was looking for.
Have a wonderful life Millie! We love you so much! This is why rescue matters! Dogs like Millie don't always get second chances but that is what PLP is all about.
Thank you Eric for stepping up to foster this awesome girl and taking her today to her new home. :)
