At the beginning of September we saw the most heartbreaking photo of a broken down, sick, tired, beagle in a rural North Carolina shelter. It was obvious he had been on his own for quite some time.
HIs fur was missing, He had skin infections and masses. He was heartworm positive and full of parasites. His teeth were infected and his tail was nothing but bone! He was a HOT MESS. We wasted no time finding a foster home and he made his way to Myrtle Beach. Linus went straight to the groomer where he had 3 baths to remove the stink and funk he was covered in. Thank you Bubbles & Fluff!
It took about 7 weeks to get this boy on the mend. He had 3 surgeries. We treated his heartworms, skin infections and got rid of the nasty parasites. He slowly but surely transformed into the handsome fella we knew he was and the entire time he was always happy and sweet. Linus learned how to be an indoor dog in his foster home, living his new life in a beachfront condo. A far cry from a homeless dog in Columbus Co! ðð»
His foster Mom took him on daily beach walks and he fell into a routine while feeling a little better each day.
When it was time for our sweet fella to find his forever home, his foster Mom announced that Linus was already HOME.
We made it official this week and Linus will never be homeless or hungry again.
It's dogs like Linus who need us the most. Hounds are one of the most neglected and abused dogs in the South. They are such gentle, sweet souls. We must all do our part to to help those who endure the most suffering. If we don't help them, who will?
