Meet Lovisa! Lovisa had a bad start in life. She was found in a ditch in Columbus County, North Carolina. Animal control was called and the shelter had the officer take her right to the vet. In the meantime they called the director of PLP and asked if we could take her right away. She was injured, had a broken jaw, open wounds and maggots crawling on her. :( She could NOT go to the shelter. She was only 5 lbs. Of course we said YES. 

Lovisa could barely lift her head when we picked her up first thing the next morning. The vet said she may have to have surgery on her broken jaw. We instantly took her to our vet who advised to feed her soft food and that the jaw could possibly heal on its own. He cleared the maggots from her wounds and sent her home with lots of meds. 

Over the next few days and weeks, little Lovisa (means fighter) gradually improved. She had many vet visits and her wounds and jaw started to heal. Slowly but surely she gained strength and became healthy! 

Fast forward 3 months and little Lovisa is now a healthy, happy, vetted pup! She has had two rounds of vaccines, is microchipped, and spayed. She is current on flea, tick, and heartworm preventative also. 

Lovisa is not fully housebroken but she is working on it and crate training. She is also doing good on the leash. We do not know her breeds but the dog scanner app usually gives us an idea and many possible combinations. ;) Whatever breeds she is , she is sweet, happy, and playful! She is very high energy and will need a playmate or someone active to be in her life. She is ready for lots of adventures! 

Lovisa is finally ready for her forever home. She loves to play and loves other dogs and even cats! She has also met older respectful children and is fine with them. She is great in the car also. She is a typical puppy so will still have accidents and chew stuff if not watched. 

Lovisa is now ready to find her perfect family! Her adoption donation is $250.00 and she comes with all vet records, leash and collar.
