Welcome little, sweet Hazel to PLP! 
Hazel found herself, along with 15 of her siblings in a rural North Carolina shelter two weeks ago. Her owner had went into a hospital and could no longer care for them. They had all been living outside and had probably never had a bath before. The shelter staff who was bathing the dogs had to change clothes halfway thru the job because they were so filthy! 
Hazel is about 5 years old and around 16 lbs. Her nickname in her foster home is "Happy Meal" because she is just a portion of a full size. 
Hazel came to us very afraid and timid; wanting to hide behind furniture and people. She is coming around slowly but surely. She walks great on a leash and is learning house manners. She doesn't mind the crate but will bark and howl if she knows you are home. She wants to be next to her people; but still a little unsure. 
She rides great in the car and is ok with cats and other dogs. She does get a little jealous if sitting with her human though and a bigger dog comes up. 
New situations are a little scary and she may give a little low growl at the moment but with time and patience she will be ok. Everything is so new to her. She lived at the same house her entire life we believe. 
Hazel is now spayed, chipped, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and current on flea and tick preventative. She also received a 6 month heartworm preventative, Proheart.  She has ear infections which are being treated as well. 
She comes with all vet records, leash and collar.
