Hi my name is Alice. I came from a hoarding situation and was living outside my whole life! I am a female beagle and I am about 5 years old. I am a little scared around humans but have been warming up to my foster family.

My foster family has three small dogs and neighbors with kids, cats, and bigger dogs. Although I won't go up and play with anybody right off the bat I am not bothered by having anyone else around. When I first arrived at my new foster home I didn't come out of my crate for the first two days. I had never been inside before and it was a pretty wild experience. Soon my foster mom got me out with some bacon. Once I was outside I wanted to stay out there, being my element and all, but soon realized maybe inside wasn't so bad. I wasn't too sure about hanging out with everyone so I set up camp in the bathroom for the first two weeks.

I was heartworm positive, had hookworms, and needed to be spayed so after my trip to the vet it was really nice having my foster mom take care of me. This helped me warm up to everyone in the house. I soon started to spend time in the family room and sleep in bed with the gang. I started to come out of my shell this week and really am enjoying wrestling and running around my fenced in backyard with my foster siblings. Having friends to play with has been a lot of fun!

I don't have much leash experience but I am willing to learn. I am gated in the kitchen area when my foster mom leaves for work and use the bathroom outside when she returns. I do use a pee pee pad overnight sometimes. I am quiet in the car because it's scary. I actually think a lot of things are scary but I am approaching new opportunities everyday with a good attitude. Having a routine and love has truly helped me start blossoming into a 'real dog'.

I like head scratches and belly rubs, I am really good at howling when the squirrels are running across the backyard. My foster mom says my energy is so sweet and so loving, that anyone would be lucky to have me.  I am a little girl that's friendly and happy but I will need someone patient and open to working with me as I get used to living inside with humans.

Let's plan a meet and greet! I'd love to be a part of your family. Approved application, home visit, and adoption donation of $250 required.
