Sweet Hank is a 3-4 year old boy who appears to be an American Staffordshire Terrier mix. We rescued him on his last day at the county shelter. He came in with several dogs as strays and he had a heavy chain around his neck. :(
He has now been with us for a little over a month and is learning how to be an indoor dog. He had quite a bit of anxiety when he arrived due to adjusting to being indoors. He is sweet as can be and does not have a mean bone in his body. He loves other dogs and is even fine with the resident cat.
His foster Mom is working on his training to calm his mind and is doing a fabulous job. He does get anxious when going in a crate but he continues to get better and we are using a heavy duty crate for him which works perfectly. He will whine and bark when he goes in if he knows you are there. A canine friend would probably be best for Hank to show him how to "dog" and be a conform and companion.
Hank is housebroken and only 47 lbs but he is a strong boy and working on leash manners but is doing very well considering the amount of time he has been with us! :)
Hank is starting to warm up to people and greets everyone with sloppy kisses. A fenced yard isn't necessary as he takes several walks a day but having a playmate and a yard is a plus too! Older kids will work better as he likes to have lots of attention. Hank loves to play ball and loves stuffed toys. He has never had an accident in his foster home. :)
Hank is neutered, utd, current on preventatives and chipped. We started his heartworm treatment and he only needs a proheart injection in 5 months which also doubles as a preventative.
Bully breed experience preferred.
Home visit, approved application, and adoption donation of $250 required.
