Drumroll Please!!!
Gordon has been ADOPTED!!!!
Gordon has had a bad life. He was found starved and emaciated under an unused boat in North Carolina. He could barely walk. We think he went there to die.
Someone went to look at the boat to possibly buy it and found Gordon! A miracle in itself. Gordon went to the shelter who sent him straight to the vet. The vet suggested euthanasia if not rescued immediately.
We found a temp foster for Gordon and sprung him immediately. He was so weak he barely could walk. His paws were raw and he was sick and tired. He was full of parasites, Heartworm positive , starving and had lots of skin infections. We started his treatment and he slowly gained weight and started feeling better. Thank god for our foster, Brittany who took him in when he was at his worst and gave him the quiet place to heal and feel better. This was back in August.
After two weeks Gordon was ready to go to his permanent foster home. Unfortunately, he only stayed two days. We moved Gordon back to Brittany and found another foster. There was a little incident over food with a smaller dog so Gordon couldn't stay and he was moved again.
He found another foster home, and he had a little incident over a food wrapper, and again went back to the person who always had his back.
When we had a few applications for Gordon we were happy, yet cautious. It is imperative that people understand this sweet boy and give him the guidance, understanding, space, and training he needs. Gordon is a super sweet laid back fella. He has just had a crappy past.
When a family went to meet Gordon last week we didn't think much of it. When they said they wanted to adopt him, even with a little dog, we were over the moon! ðð» They are totally on board for working with Gordon and giving him the home he has never had.
Gordon will now spend the first Thanksgiving of his life, indoors, with a family of his own, and will never miss a meal again!
I am shouting out to the world, THIS IS WHY RESCUE MATTERS!!!
Gordon is HOME! Thank you Tom and Michelle for taking a chance on Gordon and giving him what he has never had. We appreciate it more than you know.
Thank you to everyone who has helped Gordon along his journey; Grand Strand Animal Hospital, and everyone who donated to his care.
Gordon, we ALL LOVE YOU SO MUCH. TEARS OF JOY!!! Have a wonderful rest of your life!
Adopt; don't Shop!
