Carissa

Happy Gotcha Day, Sweet Carissa!
Carissa was about to be euthanized in a North Carolina shelter when Carissa's now family saw a post that we would save her but needed a foster home. They applied to foster, and we sprung her immediately!
Carissa is a fearful dog, and her foster home was the perfect place to decompress, rest, and heal.
She has come out of her shell a little more every day, especially with the help of her big sister, Bella who helps give her confidence. (Bella is also a rescue)
Carissa now loves being a couch potato, playing tug of war with Bella, and cuddling with her mom and dad. She even started going on car rides with her sister daily!
Big huge thanks to Connie and Darren for stepping up for one of a million pitties in high kill shelters. Sharing helped this sweet girl find her family!
Have a wonderful new life, Carissa! We are blessed to be part of your journey! We can't wait to see you become the dog you were meant to be!

Chandler

Congratulations to Chandler who has found his forever home!
Chandler came to us in January when I got a call about three Dachshunds living in a chicken coop, and it was COLD outside. The next day I received their photo and put out a plea. A temporary foster stepped up for the three and the person holding them delivered them to us, thankfully. These puppies were so scared and unsocialized but also starving for love and affection, AND so happy to be indoors. Thank you Brenda!

We began searching for separate foster homes as the boys were starting to show signs of littermate syndrome.
When Mike and Kandi applied to foster, they told us they had lost their nineteen-year-old Dachshund, Gretchen two years ago and were ready to adopt  a new doxie to the family. Fostering to possibly adopt is always a great way to see it a dog fits into your family.

Because these boys had little experience out in the world, their foster parents had to teach Chandler the ropes of walking on a leash, meeting new people, riding in the car, and going to businesses. Chandler settled in and became the dog we knew he could be with the patience and love of his foster parents who are now is forever parents! .
We couldn't have found a better home and family for our little "Chandler Bing"!
Thank you, Mike and Kandi, for taking a chance on the handsome fella and giving him the life he so deserves.
We all love you Chandler!!
Have a great life little guy and we hope to get lots of updates throughout your life!

Chewy (Chi Chi)

When the shelter called asking if we could take a seven year old little girl who had been brought in to be euthanized of course I said “yes, we will help if we can!”
The reason she was surrendered was that family had moved in with young children and other dogs and “Chewy” wasn’t happy so she had to go! Guess giving her space to acclimate wasn’t considered.
We were never given a dog or cat test but I suspected she would be fine with other dogs with proper meets as I’ve never met a little dog like this who wasn’t.
Chewy settled in and we updated her vetting. She was a sweet, happy little dog who just needed a second chance.
When we received an application and saw the photo of their current male dog, Arnie, we got excited. They looked so much alike!
Chewy joined her new family earlier in the week and her and Arnie get along just fine. 🙌 She likes the dog park and other people as well. Her new parents vacation with their dogs in tow and treat their pets like family; exercising, walking, and going to parks together.
Enjoy your new life little Chi chi!
We are blessed to be part of your journey.
We can’t wait to get updates of your new adventures.
Thank you to the people at the shelter who advocated for you to live and to our foster, Paul who took you in, thus giving you a second chance.
Happy Gotcha Day!! Thank you Michelle and Neil for adopting and not shopping.

Cheerios

Congrats to Cheerios who has found his forever family!!!
Cheerios found himself at the county shelter in August with a mangled leg, and quite banged up. They weren't sure if an animal had attacked him or if he had been hit by a car. The leg could not be saved so it was amputated soon after.
We saw Cheerios and knew we wanted to help him. We posted on our page and soon found a foster home for the young tripod.
Cheerios had never been taught any manners or how to "dog" but with a committed foster mom and some advice and a session from our trainer, he quickly started picking up what was expected of him.
We knew it wouldn't take long to find a family for our sweet, handsome boy. Just look at that face!
Last week we received an email from a very sweet family who was interested in Cheerios, but they made it clear they wanted what was best for Cheerios, even if they weren't the perfect match. I suggested filling out the app and we would set up a meet to see if it was a fit.  She works from home and has an active dog so I felt confident. 🙏🏻
Cheerios didn't miss a beat when he met his new family! It was as if he knew exactly where he was! He mastered the stairs right away and he and the resident Poodle, Charlie Brown, were fast friends!
His mom has already sent us updates and pics and thanked us for letting her adopt our precious pup. Of course, we are the ones thankful for finding the best home we could for Cheerios.
Thank you, Susie for fostering and special thanks to our trainer, Jeff for driving down and helping to make Cheerios the best version of himself.
We love you handsome boy! Have a wonderful life! Thank you, Paige and family, for adopting and not shopping!!

Calvin (Klein)

Happy Gotcha day to sweet Calvin who joined his new family over the weekend!
Calvin came to us 2 months ago as a stray from a rural area. We scooped up him and his three siblings and completely vetted them and prepared them for the world.
Thank you Michelle and Tara for fostering and new family for adopting!
Happy life sweet boy!
