Huck

Congrats to Huck who has found his forever family!
This little low rider found his way to us a few months ago. His mom had showed up as a pregnant stray at some nice people's home. They took her in and decided to adopt her and asked us for help with the pups.
Huck has spent the last two months learning how to be a good puppy while getting his vetting done and learning socialization and having lots of fun!
Huck was ready to leave the foster home and head to his forever home today. He now has a new brother named Tater Tot(on right ) and they were instant friends! He has a big fenced yard to run and play with Tator.
Thank you, Amber and Michelle for fostering this sweet guy.
Happy life Huck and new family! Thanks for adopting!

Hank

Happy Gotcha Day Mr. Hank!!
Hank joined us in April when his time was up at the county shelter. He had been found running loose with several other dogs but what stood out was the heavy chain and padlock that was on his neck!
Hank's adjustment to living indoors was not easy for the little guy. He busted out of crates and destroyed doors trying to get out. After a few weeks of trying different crates, supplements, and approaches he finally began settling in.  He also had a great foster mom who is really good with dog training who helped Hank along his journey. Thank you Angela!

Hank's original foster mom was a temp situation because of some health issues but once those were addressed she decided "Hanky Poo" needed to join her again, only permanently!
Hank is now "Home" where he belongs and will never be abandoned, scared or living outdoors again. We treated all of his ailments and he is now living the good life with his Mom and sister, Mia!
Hank really is the sweetest boy; but he could not be adopted at the shelter because of several things. This is why Rescue Matters! Have a wonderful life Hank and family!! We love you.
Thank you Amy for fostering and adopting!!

Hazel

Last month we took in a little beagle girl who was turned into a North Carolina shelter with 14 other dogs. Her owner had gone into the hospital and all the dogs were surrendered. They were filthy and had all been living outside. 🥲
We named this tiny lady Hazel, who was not too friendly with us at first. She was scared and everything was unfamiliar to her.
Luckily it didn't take long for Hazel to learn to trust her foster mama and she learned the joys of car rides and going for walks. We got her all fixed up at the vet and treated her ear and skin infections and Hazel soon became a happy, healthy girl.
We were surprised we didn't have more interest in her but think she must have been holding out for THIS.
Hazel joined her new family this weekend and now she lives Ocean front! Her mom walks on the beach every day and Hazel will be the one and only dog (her preference). She does have a 35 year old African bird to share her home with but didn't seem to mind.
Thank you Jan and Drew for adopting and not shopping! We hope Hazel brings you lots of joy.
Thank you Tara for fostering this little angel who needed our help.
Have a wonderful new life Hazel!!

Hancher

In October we were asked to rescue a dog  at the local shelter who was on the list. He had been turned in by his "owner" because they were moving. (terrible excuse-find a place that takes pets!)
Anyway, we had a foster who was interested in fostering to adopt so we sprung this handsome young guy.
He went to a foster home with a Myrtle beach police officer and his wife and son. The dog's name had been Odin when he was dumped at the shelter and we asked if the foster family wanted to keep that name or give him a new one to go along with his new life. They instantly said New Name! They already had chosen what it would be. The dog's new name would be Hancher.... in honor of recently fallen MBPD, Jacob Hancher.
Hancher completed his vetting and over the weekend we made it official. Hancher now is a permanent member of his own forever family with Megan, Ron, and their son.
Congratulations sweet boy! Never look back. You will never be abandoned again.
Hancher now enjoys life running along the dirt bikes and playing with the other doggos in the house. He even likes the cat!
Thank you Megan for stepping up to help a shelter dog and making this boy a part of your family.  And special thanks for honoring a missed member of our community, officer Jacob Hancher.
Have a wonderful life together! thank you! Adopt; don't shop!
