Ross

Happy adoption day, Ross!!
Ross was one of the three Dachshunds who were out in the Galivants Ferry area living in a chicken coop. We don't know why they were kept outside but thankful they contacted us.
The pups were very scared and unsocialized, but we knew they would come around with a little work, love and patience.
Ross is a shy boy, and his two brothers left the house to continue their journey.
We were looking for a quiet home, with preferably another small dog and a fenced yard with someone who wasn't gone long hours.  Ross was accustomed to this and he still needed to learn a lot about "how to dog."
When Jacqueline (Jax) applied to foster, we were looking for more local homes but when she applied to ADOPT, well that was a different story!
We had application after application come in, however, we kept going back to Jax's app.She had lost her male Doxie, Max about eight months ago and her female Dachshund, Ruby needed a friend. We felt out of everyone her scenario fit Ross's lifestyle the best. We felt she would give Ross the life he deserves!
It actually reminded me of myself when i was younger with my two Dachshunds, a male and female.
Have a wonderful life sweet Ross! We hope to follow you, watch you flourish, and we know you are in the best hands!
Jax, thank you for adopting our sweet boy and I hope you don’t mind we snagged some of your pics.

Reeses

In November we noticed a young, black dog on a euthanasia list in the same shelter as our little Max came from. I spoke to the rescue contact who takes photos of the dogs at this North Carolina shelter and she said the dog was a very sweet, young girl, who knew basic commands and loved everyone. Her name was Reeses and she had been at the shelter over a month and her time was coming to an end.
We put out a plea for a foster and someone stepped up, so we sprung this sweet, happy girl. Black dogs get overlooked more than lighter colored dogs sadly, and not one person had inquired about adopting her and she had no other rescue interest.
In no time at all she was friends with the other two dogs in the home and her foster family couldn't believe what an amazing dog she was.
After her spay, her foster mom reached out to let us know she was interested in adopting sweet Reeses.
We made it official in time for Christmas, so Reeses wish has come true. She has a HOME. She is one of the lucky dogs who made it out of a rural shelter and found a loving family of her own.
Thank you, Lauri and family, for adding this sweet girl to your family. We have enjoyed your updates and pictures and are so happy for you all!
Everyone., please  give a homeless dog a chance. There are so many awesome dogs in shelters and rescues across the country.
Merry Christmas Reeses!! Have a wonderful Life!

Romeo

Happy Gotcha Day, Romeo!
Romeo was surrendered to us in February. His doggy parents lived together and neither one was altered so of course, puppies. (Dad has since been neutered)
Romeo didn’t even hit the adoption floor as he went to his foster mom who fell in love and wanted to adopt him.
Thank you, Stephanie for fostering and adopting! You have taught him so much!
Great job!!
Have a wonderful life together, Romeo and Stephanie!

Rapunzel

Congrats to Rapunzel who has found her forever family!
Rapunzel came to us from a rural shelter as a tiny pup. She finished her vetting last week and was ready to move out of her foster home and into her new forever home.
As you can see she is already loved!
Thank you to her several foster moms and also to her new family for adopting and not shopping.
Have a great life sweet Rapunzel!
We love you!

Remi June

Congratulations to Remi!! She has found her forever family!!!
Remi came to us a few months ago from a rural shelter. She had been dumped at the shelter by her family for basically being a puppy. She was chewing on stuff in the house like most puppies do when bored, teething or needing exercise.
She joined PLP and everyone loved her.  She loves kids and loves going to the dog park. She was an active girl but so sweet and loving. She didn't have much interest as not everyone wants a high energy dog we assumed.
But Remi's luck changed this week when the perfect family found her! They live on 14 acres and have grandkids who live next door who visit daily.
Her new family drove 9 hours round trip to meet her and take her home to Calhoun Falls, SC.
Remi was an excellent passenger going home and absolutely adores the grandkids and is so sweet and gentle with them.
Remis mom does story telling at the library and plans on taking Remi to do this with her! How sweet is that ?
We always say there is a home for every dog, we just have to find it!
Remi has found her happily ever after and we are so happy for her!
Thank you Nicole for fostering this sweet girl. 🙏🏻
Thank you Lois and Tim for adopting and not shopping!
Have a wonderful life Remi!! We love you.
