Back in June, we were contacted by a rural shelter who asked if we wanted a very unsocialized 4 month old puppy. Someone had caught the little stray pup and brought him in. Of course we said yes. We knew he would be a challenge but we like to help the scared dogs.
"Sarge" went to a foster home with two other dogs who helped him gain his confidence. He worked with one of our trainers on his socializing and leash walking and over the past few months Sarge has really blossomed. He definitely needed someone willing to work with him regularly and teach him how to be a dog instead of hiding behind the couch (which he wanted to do).
When Sarge finished his vetting, it was time to post him for adoption but his foster family decided he was already HOME.
Thank you Missy and Alex for fostering and adopting sweet Sarge and giving him the structure and guidance he needs.
Foster failing is never really a bad thing! Sarge doesn't have to start over in a new home; he has been HOME all along.
Thank you Kimberly for helping with Sarge's training and making house calls to see him! You have made such a difference for this boy! We appreciate you!
Have a wonderful life Sarge, Missy, Alex, Deputy and Louie!
Thank you for adopting and not shopping!
Congrats to our handsome boy, Blue aka Sox who has finally found his forever home! It took 3 months and 9 applications to find the “perfect match” but I think we succeeded!
This handsome guy came to us back in May when his time was up at the county shelter. After his vetting and heartworm treatment he was healthy and ready to find a home but nothing seemed to work out. We just didn’t get it. He loved dogs, cats and kids and was such a sweet fella.
Luckily, this week we found the perfect family for our handsome guy. He now has a teenager to play with and a big fenced yard.
Thank you Nguyen family for adopting and not shopping!
Thank you Kandi for fostering! You were his angel!
Have a great life sweet boy!
Swilley must have had a plan. His plan was to stay with his foster family.
You see, Swilley was adopted a few weeks ago. We thought it was a perfect family for him; kids, a huge yard, someone always home. We were shocked when he was returned after a few days.
Swilley and one of the children had some sort of incident and they didn't want him anymore. Maybe it was too much at once, maybe it was the thunderstorms, we don't know. Luckily, Swilleys foster family, Sonya and Elijah jumped right in their car and went and got our sweet, older gentleman.
Elijah had started working with Swilley, who had never lived indoors before he came to PLP, as soon as they started fostering him. Swilley now knows, sit, stay, heel, and "down"! It is amazing to watch! Just a boy and his dog!
Yesterday Swilley became a permanent member of his foster family. He was HOME all along!!!
Swilley was a stray, dumped, emaciated, flea ridden, sick hound when he came to us. Look at him now!! What an amazing transformation. This is why rescue matters.
Congratulations Swilley, Sonya and Elijah and THANK YOU for all you have done for this once homeless, forgotten hound. We love you Swilley! Have a wonderful life!!
Does anyone remember Stuart Little from last year? We rescued him and his brother from a North Carolina shelter. He was adopted after he completed his vetting and all was great until a few weeks ago. Unfortunately the 2 year old in the home and Stuart (now Bodhi) had a few, “not so happy” incidents so they wanted to return him sadly.
We found a new foster home and he fit right in! We didn’t even have to put him
back up for adoption as his foster dad fell in love!.
Thank you Aizik so much for taking him in and adding him to your family!
Happy new life sweet Bodhi !
Thank you Kimberly for your help as well!
Happy happy gotcha day to our sweet boy, Soo!!!
We pulled this handsome boy from the county shelter in March. His time was up and the shelter was closed due to the pandemic. We were so thankful to have a foster step up. thank you Cathy!!
We updated his vetting and he had surgery to remove a large cyst on his leg.
Soo was a very special boy but his size and age seemed to deter people.
Soo’s owner had passed away who had loved him very much .This sweet boy was extremely well mannered and we were determined to find a perfect home for him.
Well look no further! Marty and Mark came down from North Carolina today and Soo is now part of his own family! He has a beautiful home and lots of walking trails in a lovely community.
We are so happy for you Soo!!
Have a wonderful life Soo and Jewel family! We are blessed to be part of your journey!
