Sweet Face Ace

Congratulations to Sweet Face "Ace" who has found his forever family!
Sweet Face found himself in a predicament at the local county shelter back in November. He had been seized after a cruelty investigation and turned in with several dogs who were not in good shape. Ace had a skin infection, needed to be neutered and eat some nutritious food. Despite his neglect, he was super happy, friendly and playful.
We posted Sweet Face for a few weeks begging for a foster family to help save him. Time is of the essence for these dogs, and he was running out of time. We even had a few people apply and when the time came for them to go get him, they didn't respond. We were in a pickle and his life was on the line.
One of our regular fosters stepped up to the plate even though she had another foster. We sprang Sweet Face as soon as possible and he was so happy to be free and safe! We updated his vetting, treated his skin issues and honestly, didn't think we would have much interest. Even though his was a perfect gentleman, black bullies aren't usually in high demand, sadly.
We received an application recently and when asked what dog he was interested in, it said, "No specific dog" . We love this!
Ace took a trip to meet his potential family and it was love at first sight. They wanted an active dog for their active lifestyle, who could go for runs, walks, and even to work sometimes.
Ace is already settling in with his new mom and dad, has went to the pet store to get some goodies, and even the doggy park.
Happy Life Sweet Face Ace! Thank you, Daniel and Ashley, for adopting and not shopping! Thank you Kandis for always helping the bullies who need us!!

Spot

Happy Gotcha Day Spot!!!
We are so excited to announce that our sweet, perfect boy Spot has finally found his forever family!
Spot came to us on one of the last days of June after being on the "list" at the county shelter. He was supposedly heartworm positive so he was rescue only but once we took him to the vet, we discovered that he was heartworm negative. yay.
This sweet, happy boy was nothing but perfect; good with all animals, people, and happy. He had one vice; he HATED the crate and could escape, climb, bend, or jump over any crate, gate or kennel.
When we received an app from a work from home adopter, we held our breath. She had been following Spot for a month on social medial. When she finally met our boy, she had tears of happiness in her eyes which, of course, made our hearts full.
Spot instantly made himself at home; he KNEW!
Spot now lives in market common with an active mom and we couldn't be happier. Sometimes they just have to wait for the right person to find them!
Thank you Tara for always being the best foster mom.
Thank you Patricia for adopting and not shopping!
Have the best life Spot! You deserve it as you are the bestest boy.
We love you!!

Sugar Bear

In June, our director was asked to take a senior that had been with her owner for the last 18 years. She could no longer care for her dogs properly with a baby and trying to find a place to move to. 😞
We agreed to take sweet Sugar Bear into PLP and get her the vet care she needed. Sugar Bear received blood work, a dental, and anything else she needed. We added supplements to her diet and some daily meds and she perked right up!
We knew that there would be someone out there who would want to adopt this little old lady as she has so much love to give!
Today, her new mom drove from Virginia to pick up Sugar Bear.
As you can see sweet Sugar Bear was smiling when she met her mom and they hit the road.
We don't know how much time Sugar Bear has left but we made sure she is happy, feels good, and is now HOME.
Thank you Charlotte for adopting our special senior and thank you Lisa for fostering!

Shiloh

Happy, happy Gotcha day sweet girl, Shiloh!!!
Shiloh found herself in quite the predicament last month. Her former owner had turned her into the county shelter.
Now a black heartworm positive dog in a southern shelter is not a good combination.  They called “last call” and when one of our fosters saw that Shiloh was good with cats she stepped up! Thank you
Laurie Jean Sojourner!
Shiloh underwent heartworm treatment and vetting and learned to be an indoor dog.  She soon blossomed into the wonderful dog she was meant to be! Her patient foster family took the time to teach her the things she needed to learn to be a great companion.
The Montague family had applied for another one of our dogs but just missed out . When they saw Shiloh they set up a meet and it was a great match!
Shiloh loves her new family! She now has 2 acres to run and play in and was already playing ball with her new dad today .
Thank you Montague family for adopting and not shopping and thank you so much Laurie for being Shilohs angel! 😇Have a wonderful life sweet girl! ðŸ

Sarge

Back in June, we were contacted by a rural shelter who asked if we wanted a very unsocialized 4 month old puppy.  Someone had caught the little stray pup and brought him in. Of course we said yes. We knew he would be a challenge but we like to help the scared dogs.
"Sarge" went to a foster home with two other dogs who helped him gain his confidence. He worked with one of our trainers on his socializing and leash walking and over the past few months Sarge has really blossomed.  He definitely needed someone willing to work with him regularly and teach him how to be a dog instead of hiding behind the couch (which he wanted to do).
When Sarge finished his vetting, it was time to post him for adoption but his foster family decided he was already HOME.
Thank you Missy and Alex for fostering and adopting sweet Sarge and giving him the structure and guidance he needs.
Foster failing is never really a bad thing! Sarge doesn't have to start over in a new home; he has been HOME all along.
Thank you Kimberly for helping with Sarge's training and making house calls to see him!  You have made such a difference for this boy! We appreciate you!
Have a wonderful life Sarge, Missy, Alex, Deputy and Louie!
Thank you for adopting and not shopping!
