Huck

Congrats to Huck who has found his forever family!
This little low rider found his way to us a few months ago. His mom had showed up as a pregnant stray at some nice people's home. They took her in and decided to adopt her and asked us for help with the pups.
Huck has spent the last two months learning how to be a good puppy while getting his vetting done and learning socialization and having lots of fun!
Huck was ready to leave the foster home and head to his forever home today. He now has a new brother named Tater Tot(on right ) and they were instant friends! He has a big fenced yard to run and play with Tator.
Thank you, Amber and Michelle for fostering this sweet guy.
Happy life Huck and new family! Thanks for adopting!

Queso

Congrats to Queso aka Stella for finding her FOREVER home the third and final time. 🙏🏻
Poor Queso was found last summer as an emaciated stray and a young person  took her in. She took her to the vet and brought her indoors to live, but she realized she didn't have the means to care for a dog long-term. She relinquished her to our vet office where they took over her care. The vet office treated all of her ailments, and they asked if we could help. Someone stepped up to foster and she soon adopted. We were thrilled Queso had a home but then a few months down the road we were contacted and told that "Stella" needed a new home.  (No fault of her own) We were told she would foster her but soon was told the dog would be taken to a shelter. We paid for dog walking to help the owner out and worked on finding a foster home but it's not that easy these days with so many dogs needing placement, sadly.
Luckily, an applicant who was ready to adopt drove down from North Carolina to meet this sweet girl. We cat tested Stella to make sure it was a good fit, and all went well.
Hopefully Stella has finally found someone who will love and care for her forever. She deserves it! Thanks Blanche and family! We appreciate you for adopting this lovely gentle girl. Have a great new life Stella!
Thanks Kim and Renee for your help.

Chloe

A few months ago, we were contacted about a chi and two puppies who were dumped out on highway 90. They had tried to find a safe spot and ended up in a drainpipe, unable to get out. Some nice people went to help them, called animal control, and was told there was no room at the county shelter so they could not help.
We were asked to help and found fosters for two of the pups, the chi and the female puppy. Someone else took in the male pup.
We got them to the vet asap and they were full of parasites and had some skin issues. The chi was heartworm positive.
We always take the time to let all of our rescues get settled in and recover from the what they have been thru and they both received complete vetting and treatments.
Finally, Chloe the puppy and Chuey (Chewy) the chi guy were both ready for families.
The Chi's foster family informed us they wanted him to join their family permanently!
At the same time, we had an application for Chloe. A single dad and his son who were looking for a companion.
Both pups were abandoned together but both found their new beginnings this week!!
Happy Gotcha Day to Chloe and Chuey (chewy)!
Thank you foster mom, Karen and thank you Rickie for adopting and not shopping! We are so happy for both of you!
Have a great life little ones!  We are honored to be a part of your journey.
Have a wonderful life!!

Baby

Back in January, one of our shelter partners asked if we could take a little small hound girl named Baby. We had an open foster family, so we said YES. We sent a volunteer to get Baby and a kitten, and we instantly knew she was about as sweet as sweet could be when she and the kitten were instant friends.
Baby had never lived inside before. Everything was new to her; leash walking, housetraining, and sleeping indoors! The resident dog, Blaze and she soon became best friends and were inseparable.
When we told people Baby needed a little help with house training, they seemed to shy away, even though that is what good pet parents are supposed to do.
We knew the best family was out there somewhere and last week we found them! A retired couple from Southport applied for Baby and they let us know that patience and training were all part of owning a dog. They have a little dog, Mimi who has some issues and thought adding a submissive pup to the household would help with her anxiety.
They instantly loved Baby upon meeting her and Baby made herself at home, using the doggy door and settling in with her new sister.
Even though she went for walks daily, her new parents realized Baby needed a playmate and missed Blaze. There just happened to be a Brittany spaniel being fostered in their town who was up for adoption, so they adopted her this week too!
Now Baby has a playmate named Talia and Mimi has two friends!
Thank you, Nicole, for fostering this sweet girl. It's not always easy in the beginning with dogs who have never lived indoors! You are amazing.
Thank you to Baby's new family for being so kind and patient and adopting our sweet girl!
Happy life sweet Baby!! We love you!!
