Belle

In December, we took in a beautiful Blue Tick hound named Belle. Belle ended up in Virginia shelter and had went to a rescue in D.C. Belle was timid and skittish and had never lived indoors before so city life wasn't her thing. She was probably a discarded hunting dog and could be shy and leary of certain people also. We offered to take her and she made her way to foster home outside of the Myrtle beach area.
We contacted a previous adopter who had adopted a Blue tick mix from us last year and she was instantly in love.
Over the weekend Belle joined her new family. She now has a huge fenced yard to run in and her "matching" sister, Trinity. (formerly Tulip with us) and her new Mom! She settled in immediately and they have been having the best time together!
Belle has found her place in the world and we couldn't be happier! Thank you Wanda for adopting a second hound from us!!
Thank you Mackenzie and Candice for your help with sweet Belle also.  Never look back Belle! Your life will be good from now on!

Brownie

Congrats to Brownie whose Christmas wish has come true!!  He has a forever home! woohoo
Brownie came to us from a North Carolina shelter last month and has been waiting so patiently to find the right family.
Now he will never be abandoned or scared again.
Thank you Pridgen family for adopting and not shopping and thank you Oakland for fostering!
Merry Christmas Brownie and family!!

Boomer

In November we were contacted by a North Carolina shelter wanting us to take a terrified, unsocialized pup who had been brought in as a stray. He was sooo scared you could not touch him or he might bite out of fear. It appeared he had never been around humans sadly.
Of course we said, Yes and sent someone to get him asap! He was so terrified he curled up in the crate and would not even look at anyone.
We found an amazing foster home and this pup soon found the resident dog to be his comfort and friend. We named him Boomer and Boomer would not even consider having a leash or collar on him at first. It took several weeks before he could even be taken outside. .... Slowly but surely this little guy learned that people were not bad and he could trust us. He followed his foster sibling and soon learned the ropes! One month later he was a new dog!!  He completed his vetting this week and was ready to find his forever family. We had a long line of applicants. So many that we had to stop taking any new ones!
The Hardwick family had applied for one of our puppies recently but just missed out. When they saw Boomer on our page, they contacted us immediately.
Yesterday, Boomer joined his new family! An early Christmas present for a young boy and his new Mom and Dad. He seemed to fit right in immediately. He was HOME.
This is why Rescue is so important. Many shelters do not have the time or resources to help dogs like Boomer. A terrified puppy in a shelter is not a good option. He couldn't even be vaccinated or dewormed at the time.
Please support your local rescues and shelters when looking for a new family member! Be like Boomer's family! AWESOME .
Have a wonderful life Boomer and Hardwick family! We love you little man! Thank you so much Penny for fostering and teaching Boomer how to trust and be the dog he was meant to be!!
Merry Christmas to al! What a fabulous happy ending! :)

Blossom

A month ago we were contacted about a lone puppy in a rural North Carolina shelter.
Some shady people were looking at her at the shelter and we were asked if we could rescue her to ensure her safety.
We sent someone immediately and little "Blossom" joined PLP!
She finished her vetting a few days ago and there was a long line of potential adopters.  (We spay and neuter all dogs before adoption and all puppies get at least two sets of vaccines)
She went to a meet and greet today and it was love at first sight!
Blossom's Christmas wish came true and she has a home for the Holidays!
Thank you Tara for fostering and Foley family for adopting!
Have a wonderful life Blossom!

Butters

Happy gotcha day to Butters!!
Butters found herself at a rural shelter with a hurricane approaching at the beginning of August. She was scared and we knew we needed to spring her.
Butters was extremely overweight, and we were not sure why, so we gave her a few months in her foster home to see if she could shed a few lbs before being spayed.
Our vet suspected Cushings so her weight loss has been slow ... but steady!
Her amazing foster mom fell in love with Butters immediately, and this week she joined her foster home permanently!
Welcome home Butters and thank you Oakland for fostering and adopting!
Have a wonderful life !
p.s. Miss Butters has lost 2.5 lbs!
How can you not love a chi named Butters?
