Jodie

Jodie has officially been adopted!
Jodie’s story began at the end of 2018 when she arrived at the Columbus co shelter in North Carolina. She was sick and scared and tiny! She was just a baby. We stepped up for her and her foster mom picked her up and she went straight to the vet. She had terrible skin infections to say the least. Jodie started her treatment and it took a good 6 months it seemed for her to be completely healthy.
Jodie slowly blossomed into a gorgeous, happy girl who loved everyone she met, human and canine.
Jodie attended adoption events but was always overlooked. She had a few people apply for her but Jodie needs exercise and that was a deterrent for some, sadly.
We tried to persuade Jodie’s foster mom to adopt but she thought Jodie’s forever home was out there somewhere... fast forward to today.. Jodie’s foster mom signed the paperwork and made it official. Jodie has been HOME the whole time!!
Congrats Jodie and Candace! We knew you were right where you belonged Jodie!
Have a wonderful life sweet girl! We love you so much !
Adopt; don’t shop!

Jesse

Happy Gotcha Day to our big teddy bear, Jesse!
Jesse’s new mom, Meagan saw Jesse online and had been thinking about getting a dog. We were so happy when we received the application and Jesse settled into his new home yesterday!
Luckily for Jesse, his mom is off work the next three weeks so she will get to spent lots of time with him and help him acclimate to his new home.
Jesse came to us last October when a bully loving friend pointed him out at a high kill NC shelter several hours away.
It was a stressful situation getting approved and finding transport and a foster, as he was next to be euthanized.
The village stepped up and soon Jesse was on his way to the beach!
Thank you so much Sara and Tammy for transporting and bringing him to events, and special thanks to Kelly for fostering the big Mush!
THANK YOU Meagan for adopting and not shopping! May you and Jesse have a fabulous life together! We love you Jesse!

Jennings

Congratulations to Jennings who has found his forever home with his foster mom, Penny! Woohoo!
Our sweet boy’s life was not good before he found his way to us. He was found living under a house in North Carolina, and was taken to a rural kill shelter.  He waited there several months and then the Shelter did a free adoption day and a woman with small children adopted him.  Jennings was scared and unsocialized and was soon dumped at another North Carolina kill shelter two weeks after he was adopted. Luckily the original Shelter group found out and drove to get Jennings before it was too late!  He was so broken he wouldn’t even eat chicken nuggetsï
We pulled Jennings and started his heartworm treatment. He settled in and we soon found a local foster for him which brought him to where he is now! This is your final stop sweet boy! You are safe and sound and HOME!
Thank you Penny for adopting this special guy!! Have a wonderful life !!

Jack Black

Back in May we took in two seniors from a North Carolina kill shelter whose owner had dumped them stating, "they are old, might as well euthanize them.
Jack Black and his brother, Lucky had not had a good life prior to this day.  They had been living outside, hadn't been to a vet since 2013, neither were neutered and both were heartworm positive along with various skin problems and parasites.
We nursed them back to health with lots of love, vet care and good nutrition. Lucky was adopted recently and we couldn't be happier for him; however his brother Jack always seemed to be overlooked. We assumed it was his age, as sweet Jack is 16 years old but that doesn't stop him from living his best life!
When former adopters Kitt and Debra inquired about Jack Black we were hopeful. The meet went great and their PLP dog, Oscar welcomed Jack with a kiss.
TODAY everything came together and Jack Black's Christmas wish has come true. Jack is HOME.
THIS is why rescue matters!
A very special thank you to Joan, who saw Jack posted back in May and offered to foster the old guy. Joan, you have been Jack's angel!!!
Thank you Renee for transporting and to all the pledgers who donated to their care!
Have a wonderful rest of your life Jack! We love you so much! Thank you thank you thank you Kitt and Debra for welcoming this special senior into your home.
