Dugg

Back in November we were asked to take in a little tiny dog who had spent most of his first year locked in a room.  He had not received any vet care and we were also told he had a leg injury but they didn't know from what.
We took little Dugg in and soon found out his hip ball popped in and out of place and it could be leg Perthes disease which is something little dogs get occasionally. One of Dugg's legs was shorter than the other because of the hip popping in and out. It could be a discomfort at times to him so we decided to do the full femoral head ostectomy while he was a young tyke and could heal more quickly.
Dugg had to do rehab after his surgery, and after a few months, he finally healed and was ready to roll! We knew we had to find the PERFECT home for Dugg and it took a little time but we found it!!
Thank you so much Wendy and family for adopting a second dog from PLP! Dugg joins former Plp dog, Pierre and he fit in right away.
We are so grateful for repeat adopters and wish you a long life with your new family little man!
Thank you so much to Mary for fostering the little guy thru surgery and rehab. you did good!
Have a wonderful new life Dugg!! We love you.

Prudence

Congratulations to Prudence who has found her forever family!!!
Sweet Prudence joined us last mid-May after living in an outdoor pen alone and in the elements for the first two years of her life. :(
She was Heartworm positive, had an injured knee, and was terrified of thunderstorms. Who can blame her?
We treated her issues, the Heartworms and her knees. She ended up spraining the other one after gaining some weight. So, we took her off the adoption floor for a few months while her knee healed and she lost some weight. Now she’s healthy and happy!
We don’t know why it took so long to find her home but maybe she was holding out for the best home we could find for our sweet girl.
Prudence has been adjusting to her new home and going on golf cart rides with her new Dad.
Have a wonderful life, Prudence! We are so grateful we were part of your journey.
Thank you, Debbie, for being Prudence's angel and fostering her this last 10+ months.  Big hugs to you and your family.
Thanks, new family for adopting and not shopping!
NEVER look back Prudence, never look back.

Magic

Congratulations to Magic who has found his forever home!
…. Even better news is he joins his brother Midnight who was adopted in the home a few months ago.
Midnight had a kitty sibling who recently passed away so mom thought she should get Midnight a companion. And who would be better for the job than brother Magic who was still searching for a home?!
We hear these two boys are having a blast running thru the house and playing like two kittens do!
Thank you sweet family and thank you foster mom Joanne!
Have a great life Magic! You and Midnight stay out of trouble ..  ;)

Dexter

Congrats to Dexter who has found his forever family!
Dexter came to us in December after he was seen running around a neighborhood. No one came forward for him and he was passed around between homes . We agreed to take him in and secured a foster home.
He was soon completely vetted but he needed time and patience while learning house and leash manners. (Like most puppies)
A few days ago Dexter joined his new mamas and they love him already!
Thanks to all who helped Dexter along his journey. It’s not always easy, but it’s what we do.
Have a wonderful life Dexter!!  You hit the jackpot! We thank your new family for looking at rescues instead of buying!
We can’t wait to see you flourish!

Lemon Drop

Special Announcement!!
I always say, "Every dog has a home, we just have to find it."
Ladies and Gentleman, LEMON DROP has found her place in the world after eighteen months in foster care.
Back in September of 2021, we pulled a dog from the "Last Call" List at the county shelter. A sweet, shy, older hound who was not in good shape. Now if you know anything about rescue, you know dumped and discarded Hounds in the South are a common thing, sadly.
Lemon Drop immediately went to the vet. She was thin, had heartworms, masses, and wasn't spayed to name a few things. She had been picked up as stray out in Galivants Ferry. (rural area inland from Conway and the Beach.)
She had a mass on her knee joint that had to be removed. It was very intricate and our vet said after the surgery he didn't know if she would use the leg. Lemon proved him wrong and came walking out after surgery to her foster mom. We treated the Heartworms and all other health issues and she turned into a beautiful senior girl.
Lemon wasn't used to living indoors, so being outside was her thing. She would stay in the yard for hours and her foster mom had to actually carry her in at times.  She soon found her place though and settled in, as we searched for a forever home.
About a week or so ago, a former adopter messaged me about Lemon Drop as many former adopters had in the past. She was interested in adopting Lemon Drop and wanted to know more details. We chatted and she filled out the application and talked to her significant other.
Today, we took our sweet Hound to her new home, now named the House of Hounds!  lol
Lemon Drop joined former PLP hound, Minnie who had been adopted and returned a few years ago and who was also in foster care for some time.
We are so blessed to find the perfect home and family for our gentle girl. She has a nice yard, big fence and a mom who works from home and 3 other hounds, Minnie, Daisy, and Murphy (who was instantly in love with her)
We are so grateful for Susanne and Billy for giving Lemon Drop the home she deserves.
thanks so much Kandis and Keith for fostering all this time and never giving up on her.
Have a wonderful rest of your life girl!! You deserve the BEST!
