Prudence

Congratulations to Prudence who has found her forever family!!!
Sweet Prudence joined us last mid-May after living in an outdoor pen alone and in the elements for the first two years of her life. :(
She was Heartworm positive, had an injured knee, and was terrified of thunderstorms. Who can blame her?
We treated her issues, the Heartworms and her knees. She ended up spraining the other one after gaining some weight. So, we took her off the adoption floor for a few months while her knee healed and she lost some weight. Now she’s healthy and happy!
We don’t know why it took so long to find her home but maybe she was holding out for the best home we could find for our sweet girl.
Prudence has been adjusting to her new home and going on golf cart rides with her new Dad.
Have a wonderful life, Prudence! We are so grateful we were part of your journey.
Thank you, Debbie, for being Prudence's angel and fostering her this last 10+ months.  Big hugs to you and your family.
Thanks, new family for adopting and not shopping!
NEVER look back Prudence, never look back.

Pugsley

Congrats to Pugsley who has found his forever family! ❤️
Pugs joined us several weeks ago after someone found him running in traffic on 501. No one claimed him during the stray hold, so we found a foster home for him.
We updated his vetting, got him neutered, and treated the heartworms and he was ready for a family.
His new Mom saw his picture on our facebook page and knew instantly she wanted to adopt him.
We made it official a few days ago and Pugs made himself right at home. :)
Thank you, Jennifer, for fostering and many thanks to the good Samaritan who saved him from the traffic.
Have a wonderful life little man!

Pookie

Congrats to Dan and Pookie! These two have a mutual love fest so they have decided to stay together.
Pookie was turned over to us and needed rides to her vet appointments as her foster mom worked during vet hours so a second foster family helped out. When first foster mom became ill, Pookie stayed at this second foster home.
When Pookie wasn’t hiding under the bed, she started hanging out with her foster dad. (She is an unsocialized little thing.)
When it was time for Pookie to be adopted, her foster family wanted to adopt. (especially Dan!) lol
Thanks Megan and Carole for fostering and taking to vet visits.
Happy new life Pookie!!
Enjoy your new life and family!

Panda

Panda came to PLP in December as a tiny lone puppy from a nearby shelter. There was a line of adopters after her vetting and she was adopted to a retired woman in a nearby town. Three months later we got an email wanting us to take Panda back as she had gotten strong and was a little too much for her owner.  We suggested basic training classes and even sent links to dog training videos but she still wanted to return her.
We eventually found a foster home for Panda and she has been there for the last few weeks waiting patiently for a new family of her own.
Mackenzie wanted a young active dog to have lots of adventures with.  Panda fit the bill! They have had a few meets to get to know one another and today Mackenzie and Panda made it official! Panda now has a new mom and lives in Charleston with a roommate and doggy friend with the same energy level.
We think Panda and her new family are going to have lots of fun together and are a perfect match!
Have a wonderful life Panda and Mackenzie!
Thank you for adopting!
Thank you Tracie for fostering.
