Dugg

Back in November we were asked to take in a little tiny dog who had spent most of his first year locked in a room.  He had not received any vet care and we were also told he had a leg injury but they didn't know from what.
We took little Dugg in and soon found out his hip ball popped in and out of place and it could be leg Perthes disease which is something little dogs get occasionally. One of Dugg's legs was shorter than the other because of the hip popping in and out. It could be a discomfort at times to him so we decided to do the full femoral head ostectomy while he was a young tyke and could heal more quickly.
Dugg had to do rehab after his surgery, and after a few months, he finally healed and was ready to roll! We knew we had to find the PERFECT home for Dugg and it took a little time but we found it!!
Thank you so much Wendy and family for adopting a second dog from PLP! Dugg joins former Plp dog, Pierre and he fit in right away.
We are so grateful for repeat adopters and wish you a long life with your new family little man!
Thank you so much to Mary for fostering the little guy thru surgery and rehab. you did good!
Have a wonderful new life Dugg!! We love you.

Dexter

Congrats to Dexter who has found his forever family!
Dexter came to us in December after he was seen running around a neighborhood. No one came forward for him and he was passed around between homes . We agreed to take him in and secured a foster home.
He was soon completely vetted but he needed time and patience while learning house and leash manners. (Like most puppies)
A few days ago Dexter joined his new mamas and they love him already!
Thanks to all who helped Dexter along his journey. It’s not always easy, but it’s what we do.
Have a wonderful life Dexter!!  You hit the jackpot! We thank your new family for looking at rescues instead of buying!
We can’t wait to see you flourish!

Daisy Mae

Happy Gotcha Day Daisy Mae!
Daisy joined us in October when a shelter director contacted us about a little puppy with a broken leg. She really needed to get out of the crowded shelter and we agreed.
We scooped up this adorable little girl and took her to our vet. It was determined that her leg and hip had been broken several months earlier and was healing a little crooked which caused her leg to be a little shorter than the other. She didn't let that get her down though and everyone who met her fell in love with her including her amazing foster mom.
Daisy's foster mom recently lost two of their senior pups and Daisy really fit in with PLP alumni Wilbur (who adores her) so Daisy joined her foster family as a permanent residence.
Thank you Michelle for adopting our precious girl.
Have a wonderful life Daisy. We are so happy for you.

Darla

Rescues help dogs who couldn't or wouldn't be adopted without their help.
Darla was one of those dogs. She came into the shelter a HOT MESS: a mangey little mutt with skin infections and stinky as all get out, ear infections, parasites, and heartworms. Of course no one would walk in and adopt her.
We scooped this tiny little low rider up and immediately started her treatment. Over the last six weeks she has blossomed into a happy, lively, wiggle butt who lives life to the fullest and who felt better every passing day!!
She has been enjoying her time with her foster family so much that they decided they couldn't part with the funny, happy girl. She LOVES life! She now goes boating and swimming and enjoys the kids and other dogs in her home. She has the sweetest energy.
Thank you Renee and family for fostering and adopting this one of a kind little angel.
We can't wait to see more adventures of Darla!

Ducky

Happy gotcha day Ducky!
This distinguished gentleman came to us a few weeks ago from a rural shelter.
His foster mom loves seniors and it was a perfect match!
Today we made it official and Ducky, now Leo is Home! Have a wonderful life together Donna and Ducky!
Thank you for adopting!
