Mikey (Michael Kors)

Congrats to Mikey who has finally found his forever family!
Mikey came to Plp back in mid May with his three siblings. A Good Samaritan in a rural area had contacted me asking for help and was desperate to find them a safe haven. Their mom was a neighbors dog who had been abandoned and people took turns feeding her. ( mom was spayed and adopted soon after we took in these pups!)
All of Mikey’s siblings were adopted in July and august and he waited patiently.
He finally found the happily ever after he so deserved this week and we are over the moon!
Thank you Michelle for fostering and thank you new family for choosing our sweet boy!
Happy life Mikey!

Maumas

Congrats to miss Maumas who has found her people!
Maumas came to us awhile back when her owner contacted us to surrender her. She said she was getting a divorce and could no longer take care of her. Maumas joined us and we found out she was in heat and also was a snippy girl so would need a special home. Since there had been a male dog in the home we couldn't help but wonder if she needed her to go before she ended up expecting. Luckily that didn't happen and we got this little breed of sheep dog all fixed up and ready for a home. It took a bit to find the right placement but we found the perfect place and she is HOME. She even loves her new doggy sibling.
Thank you to her new family for giving her the time and patience to settle in. (See there is a reason no one is holding little Miss Maumas in her pictures lol) Thank you Kim for fostering and taking her to meets.

Happy new life Mamacita!

Mia

Happy Gotcha Day again for sweet Mia!
This little lady has had quite the adventure! She was found as a stray and ended up at the county shelter. She couldn’t be placed in the adoption center because she was so scared she wanted to bite everyone. We pulled her and her her foster family wanted her gone in the first day. She went to the second foster home, was adopted and then returned several months later.
Mia has come so far! She and her new mom are two peas in a pod and spend their days together taking lots of walks and visiting the neighbors.
It just took her a little while to find her place in the world!
Have a great life Mia and thanks to everyone who had a part in Mia’s journey!

Mattie

A few months ago, we took in a puppy who was supposedly heading to a shelter along with her siblings unless a rescue or homes were found. By the time we found a foster home little Mattie was the only puppy left. The others had been given away free. We offered to spay the mama so there were no more unwanted pups, and even set up the appointment but never heard back to as if she was taken.
Mattie had a great foster family who immediately worked on manners, socialization and training like all good puppy parents should.  They even took her to puppy classes!
When it was time for her to fly the nest and hit the adoption floor they decided to add her to their family. Mattie has some older doggy siblings and is right at home and will get everything she needs and deserves.
Thank you Karen and family for fostering and adopting our sweet girl. We definitely made a difference in this little girl's life!
We love you Mattie! Can't wait to see lots of updates and see you grow up to be the best version of yourself!
Happy Life Mattie and family!

Miss Phoebe

Happy Gotcha Day Ms Phoebe!
Phoebe came to us in December. She lived on a farm and was chasing the chickens. She had been found as a puppy in the area and no one ever came looking for her. The family who was caring for her asked if we could help and we said sure! Phoebe moved into a foster home where she learned leash manners, house and crate manners, did distraction work and worked on her socialization skills with her amazing foster mom.
She is such a beauty we knew it wouldn't be long before she found her forever home.
Phoebe met her new family last week and moved to Wilmington over the weekend. She now has a young active family in a dog friendly community and has a sister named Winnie who looks a lot like her! They are already best buds.
Happy Life Phoebe and family! Thank you, Angela, for being such a great foster mom once again!
